Understanding Cap Settings

Caps are set within the Offer, Offer Group or Custom Settings (at least the ones you can see in the Pacing Report). These caps limit how many actions can happen in a set time.

When you hit a cap, all new Clicks go to Pending.

Quick Reminder Set caps lower than your budget - you may still get Conversions from earlier Clicks after hitting the cap.

A Real-Life Example

Let's say you're managing "CineFlix Digital," an online movie platform:

Scenario You've set daily conversion caps for your new release Offers: "Summer Blockbuster Bundle" - 2,000 rental cap at $19.99 "Oscar Winners Collection" - 1,500 purchase cap at $39.99 Pacing Report at 6 PM EST Blockbuster Bundle: 1,850 rentals (93% of cap) with peak evening hours ahead Oscar Collection: 800 purchases (53% of cap), steady traffic Actions to take Increase Blockbuster Bundle cap to 3,000 for prime evening viewing hours Keep Oscar Collection cap as is since it's pacing well Alert streaming affiliates about increased availability for evening promotions

This shows how the Pacing Report helps you adjust caps during peak entertainment hours to maximize revenue while maintaining system capacity.

Best Practices

Keep a close eye on your cap usage by checking it frequently - this helps you notice patterns and catch problems early.

The performance graph makes it easy to see trends over time, which helps you adjust caps ahead of time based on how your Offers are performing and what your Advertiser budgets look like.

For the best results, use the pacing report together with your other reports to manage your campaigns more effectively.
