Everflow's Conversion Attribution Priority

This article details how Everflow prioritizes attributing conversions based on either click data (Transaction IDs, fingerprinting, etc.) or coupon codes, configurable at the advertiser level, and outlines the fallback to clickless attribution when neither is available.

Overview

The Everflow Platform determines Conversion Attribution Priority based on the advertiser's configuration and the available data for each conversion.

Everflow offers two Priority Types.

In this article, you’ll learn about Everflow’s:

  • Priority Types
  • Priority Strategies between those Types
  • How to Configure Attribution Priority

Click Based Attribution Priority

Click based is the default Conversion Attribution Priority Type. Everflow will try to find which Partner drove the click that was associated with the Conversion.

Good To Know The association of that click to conversion will depend on the Attribution Method, read more here.

Default Order Of Click Based Priority

Everflow will default to the click information associated with the following (in order of importance):

  1. Transaction ID passed explicitly
    • Usually via the S2S Postback Method or HTML Pixel
  2. Transaction ID found in Cookies passed via the Javascript SDK
  3. Fingerprinting
    • Attributing a click to a conversion based on browser information when a Transaction ID isn’t available
  4. Email (email attribution needs to be turned on)
  5. Coupon Code
  6. Clickless (Offer ID + Affiliate ID)

Coupon Based Attribution Priority

You can configure the Attribution Priority to be Coupon Code. In this case, Everflow will default to attributing the conversion to the Partner associated with the Coupon code.

Default Order Of Coupon Based Priority

Everflow will default to the click information associated with the following (in order of importance):

  1. Coupon Code
  2. Transaction ID passed explicitly
    • Usually via the S2S Postback Method or HTML Pixel
  3. Transaction ID found in Cookies passed via the Javascript SDK or HTML Pixel
  4. Fingerprinting
    • Attributing a click to a conversion based on browser information when a Transaction ID isn’t available
  5. Email
  6. Clickless (Offer ID + Affiliate ID)

As you’ll notice, the change here is that Coupon Code based attribution has climbed to the top of the Attribution Priority order. Should

In case Coupon Code isn’t available, Everflow then defaults to looking for Clicks again.

Clickless Attribution

If neither Click data or Coupon Code data is available, Everflow will default to a Clickless Attribution.
